+ CULTURE CREATIVE INDUSTRIES / WORKSHOP
Workshop on the topic: "The Soft Power of the Art Market". Presentation and Debate with Art Professionals and Artists. Within CULTURE +, the conference of European cultural institutes union EUNIC.
Workshop lead by Cosmin Nasui. Cosmin Nasui is a graduate of the University of Arts in Bucharest and has a long
experience in the field, both as a critic as well as a manager and curator.
Currently he runs one of the best art portals in Romania, Modernism.ro and his
own gallery. He is interested in bringing Romanian contemporary art into
present, in concept, subject and technique, branding Romanian contemporary
artists as international values and creating & developing curatorial
projects, national & international.
The workshop will be held in English.
Content of the workshop: Analyzing systems that are now in charge of producing art reveals the challenges faced by contemporary art as a soft power. The aesthetics and technologies of the 21st century lead to quick timing and large quantities, thus to an unexpected anonymity, creating collective types of artwork. Case studies from Romania and the Czech Republic will form the starting point for the presentation and debate.
