THE TESTIMONY OF TEREZIN WALLS
Photographer Richard Homola focuses on capturing well-preserved signs, messages and other inscriptions engraved in the walls of the Terezín ghetto by its prisoners during the war.
Messages on the walls that have survived until today are threatened by various repairs and alterations. Work is captured within the large-format black and white photography (i.e. size 18 × 24 cm and 20 x 25 cm), which technically and artistically displays stories behind the captured artifacts. The result is a unique photographic collection counting about 300 negatives; some are the personal findings, part relates to the structure of the ghetto and the rest are additional artwork featuring the specificity of the Terezín.
